GAYLE FLEMING, RYT, 500 hours
Gayle has a passion for living a balanced life. Like everyone else, she struggles daily with distractions to balanced living. But her vision prevails and is sustained by daily meditation, asana practice and frequent recommittments. More than 30 years ago she began her journey when she picked up a little book called "Richard Hittleman's 28 Day Yoga Plan. In subsequent years she studied the teachings of great meditation masters. When she began teaching hatha yoga the experience gained as a student of meditation, along with her formal teacher training, provided the foundation of her teaching style. Gayle never set out to simply teach students how to perform physical postures. Her challenge to her students has never been to perform difficult and complicated Yoga poses, but instead, to take the simplest pose and use it to access the deepest part of themselves.Gayle received her first formal hatha yoga teacher training at Sun and Moon Yoga Studio under the tuteledge of J.J. Gormley. Her advanced teacher training certificate is from Willow Street Yoga Center, where founder Suzie Hurley was her primary teacher. Gayle's interest in Yoga's sister science, Ayurveda, has taken her to the Sivananda Yoga Retreat in the Bahamas to study with Mark Halpern, founder of the California College of Ayurveda. There she became an Ayurveda Yoga Specialist. She studied Yoga therapy with Joseph and Lilan LePage, founders of Integrative Yoga Therapy. Gayle has studied with such renowned teachers as Rodney Yee, John Friend and others over the years.
In the practice of Yoga therapy, Gayle relies not only on her extensive training but on her on her own intuitive skills honed from many years of practice and study.
